The biggest running event of the year – the London Marathon – takes place on 24th April. A quarter of a million or so avid joggers will take part in the mammoth marathon, representing the culmination of months of training and dedication.
“Running in this country has never been in a healthier state. In London and the South East there are 850,000 people running every week — double the figure it was a decade ago,” said Brendan Foster of the Evening Standard, “There’s never been more people running so the contrast with athletics is amazing, and this year more than ever is the perfect opportunity for the London Marathon to show that.”
This week, our newsletter will be focussing on celebrity athlete’s reading habits – from Jessica Ennis-Hill’s preference for Women’s Health magazine to football-mad Johnny Brownlee’s favourite FourFourTwo.
If you’re taking part in the event – in any costume or guise – why not grab a subscription to comedian Russell Howard’s favourite exercise publication: Runner’s World magazine, now with up to 64% off.
