Andy Murray talks about his public image

Andy Murray is gearing up for Wimbledon, but first catches up with GQ in the July issue.

It’s nearly go time again for Andy Murray. He may have done well getting to the Wimbledon final last year and scoring us an Olympic gold, but what we really want is for him to win Wimbledon. It’s not too much to ask for, is it?!

Murray is the cover star of GQ’s July issue and touches on how he’s perceived vs. What he’s really like. “As a person, I’d say I’m fairly relaxed,” he tells GQ. “I am still extremely motivated and driven when it comes to my sport, but I wouldn’t say I’m an angry person. People might think I am aggressive, but I have never punched anyone in my life.”

When it comes to being in the spotlight, it’s fair to say that it’s not something Murray is comfortable and he can often be seen squirming in television interviews.

“I would say that I am different from what a lot of people think I am like,” he says. “What would bother me is if the people around me started telling me that I had begun changing, being an a**e, or something.”
