There’s good news for our BBC Top Gear magazine subscribers out there, you can now watch special Top Gear episodes through Facebook.
Following the likes of Doctor Who, Top Gear are now making a number of episodes available to be rented on their Facebook page by using 15 Facebook Credits which come to around 93p and can then be viewed within 48 hours.
Offering viewers the opportunity to watch through Facebook seems to be a welcome new initiative from companies who are hoping to reach a new audience, much like the Ascot United vs. Wembley FC game which was streamed last week and Miramax are also launching a Facebook app to allow viewers to stream films.
The first episode is already available for download now – the Polar Special, which sees Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond race from North Canada to the North Pole, a mammoth 450 miles through the snow. Being the Top Gear boys, it doesn’t go smoothly of course.
Top Gear is a huge success all over the world, but the episode can only be downloaded by Facebook fans in Europe, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
For those of you with BBC Top Gear magazine subscriptions, no doubt you’ll love the opportunity to catch your favourite episodes all over again.
Not only is Top Gear the nation’s favourite car TV show, but BBC Top Gear magazine is the nation’s best-selling car magazine. Filled with road tests, reviews and sarcastic remarks from Jeremy Clarkson, what more could petrol heads want?
