Chalke is the founder of the Oasis Trust, which was created in 1985 to offer support to young homeless people and, in 2006, he entered the Book of World Records for his charity deeds.
He is also the current chairman of the Stop the Traffik group, the organisation formed to protect the victims of people trafficking and to campaign against the practice.
