The latest edition of Dazed & Confused magazine gives the lowdown on three "uncompromising musical outsiders".

Art rock band These New Puritans, south-east London-based Dave I.D. and Hackney trailblazers Factory Floor are all profiled in the February issue of the publication, which features on its cover a picture of Magdalena Frackowiak in a striking two-part dress by Viktor & Rolf.

Dave I.D. and Factory Floor recently appeared in Paul Lester's 'New band of the day' feature in the Guardian, and both have been tipped to make their mark.

However, Factory Floor have stressed that, while their music may be distinctive, they are not going all-out to grab attention.

"We do want to provoke some reaction but it is not our ambition to make people ill," the band confirmed in the Dazed & Confused interview.

Meanwhile, Jack Barnett from These New Puritans gives an insight into the band's outlook.

"I want to make music that has the complexity of a Britten opera but that sounds like Britney Spears," he said.

As well as music, Dazed & Confused also previews Precious, the new film version of award-winning novel Push.
