If you have a subscription to The Stage then we're sure you're always up-to-date with the latest news for all things theatrical - but have you heard that the West End musical Chicago will close at the end of the summer?
Chicago originally started in Broadway, 16 years ago and has gone on to become hugely successful all over the world. Not did it begin its run in the West End in 1997 but there was even a Hollywood film adaptation in 2002, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere, which won an impressive 6 Academy Awards.
The West End show has had its fair share of celebrities involved too - over the years the likes of Christie Brinkley, Denise Van Outen, Gaby Roslin, Ashlee Simpson and even David Hasselhoff have all starred - and that's just to name a few! The show holds the record for the longest-running revival in the West End and has always been a firm favourite with tourists and theatre-lovers.
Speaking of the closure, Barry Weissler who produced the show said: "Running 15 years has been a dream come true," he added. "We may be taking our parting shots for now, but the Razzle Dazzle will never fade."
