Being the reigning Formula One world champion brings many benefits - fame, fortune, fun - but GQ Sportsman of the Year Jenson Button now has one more reason to make men jealous.

The star is one of just a handful of people to have been given the chance to test drive the first all-McLaren road car since the F1 was released almost two decades ago - the MP4-12C.

He gave GQ magazine an exclusive interview in which he revealed his thoughts on the powerful machine.

Describing it as a "beautiful car", Button praised the LED light set-up, saying that the rear end is one of his favourite parts of the motor.

He also commented on the scissor doors and paddle gear shift technology, explaining that McLaren had really listened to his feedback and acted on it.

"When you step in it feels like you're getting in a racing car: you're low to the ground and feel like you're part of it," Button told the magazine.

The cockpit comes with a large TV screen in the middle of the dash, but it was the handling and ability to pull away that impressed the Formula One star the most.

McLaren revealed that it was important that the supercar was as light as possible, as "outright power alone is of little significance if a car's weight saps output".
