Most Homes and Gardens magazine subscription holders would not dare decorate their home all in pale shades, however, textile designer Heather Lawson shows how it is done.
Heather's Nottingham home, which she shares with her husband Ken, is showcased in the latest edition of the magazine, and shows how pale wall colours can provide the perfect backdrop for interesting materials and accessories.
The couple have opted to fill their own home with antiques and vintage finds, which look great against the muted walls and soft furnishings.
Speaking to the magazine, Heather said that her love of all things vintage stems from being a teenage Oxfam fanatic.
"I adored 1940s dresses, old hand-knitted jumpers, Fair Isles, anything with texture and history," she told the publication.
Homes and Gardens readers can also get inspiration for using fabrics and wallpapers within their homes and learn how to create more space by moving bits of furniture round in the latest issue.
