When you struggle with your weight, it’s easy to look at thinner women – particularly those if the public eye – and assume that they have no body issues. However, Katherine Jenkins reveals to Weight Watchers magazine in the latest issue that she used to have hang-ups.
When asked if she’s happy with her body, she replies: "I am now. When I was younger, I was uncomfortable in my own skin and let myself get too thin. I lost too much weight when I was on Dancing with the Stars in America. I don't want to be that thin again – and my mum won't let me."
After getting fit on the programme, Jenkins says she wanted to stay healthy and so took up running. "I did a half marathon, then the London Marathon. I may do a triathlon next,” she says.
Rather than being for slimming reasons, her diet is more to do with her day job. "I don't eat dairy on performance days, as it isn't good for the voice," she says. "Neither is alcohol, so I don't drink for five days before."
