Wedding magazine subscription holders may be interested to hear that the publication has conducted a poll of its readers to find the most popular type of wedding reception venue.
More than two-thirds (37 per cent) will be taking their guests back to an old country house or hotel after tying the knot.
Meanwhile, the next most popular place to host the party was found to be a contemporary hotel, with 14 per cent of respondents choosing this type of venue.
However, more than one in ten (13 per cent) revealed that they would be hosting their reception in a place not on the list.
Other choices given in the poll were a castle, which scooped eight per cent of the votes; a marquee, where six per cent plan to celebrate; a golf course and a beach - both of which drew three per cent of the votes.
However, just two per cent plan to return to a restaurant after their ceremony, while six per cent plan a reception in their village hall.
Meanwhile, those planning a wedding will likely be hoping that they do not choose a best man like golfer Tiger Woods, who has reportedly pulled out of standing next to his best friend at the altar amid his recent troubles.
