Could this be the most highly-anticipated magazine issue of the year? Following the news in April that Edward Enninful would be taking over from Alexandra Shulman as head honcho of British Vogue, fashionistas all over the globe have been awaiting what is expected to be a ground-breaking edition - Vogue’s December issue goes on sale Friday November 10.
The ‘Diverse’ December issue stars mixed-race British model and feminist activist Adwoa Aboah on its cover. Shot by Steven Meisel, the portrait is fresh and modern, but also sympathetic to the publication’s impressive history, and hints at what we can expect in the future from Enninful who was formerly the fashion and creative director at W Magazine.
Putting an emphasis on diversity of all kinds, within the issue you will find London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Cara Delevingne, Zadie Smith, Zayn Malik, Naomi Campbell and many more, as fashion, politics, art and culture sit effortlessly side by side. Victoria Beckham is photographed in her suburban childhood home and film director Steve McQueen pens a love letter to Great Britain, and naturally, there is plenty of sumptuous fashion.
In short, if you only buy one magazine this year, it really ought to be this one.
