Carla Bruni in Vogue Paris talks feminism

Carli Bruni co-edits Vogue Paris, whilst appearing on the cover and talking "feminism".

France’s former first lady, Carla Bruni is on the December/January issue of Vogue France – or Vogue Paris as it is officially known (we just like to say Paree). The former supermodel and new mother also co-edited the issue – it helps when one of your best friend’s is that magazine’s editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt.

Bruni was shot by photographers Mert & Marcus, wearing a denim shirt and flawless make-up – it’s hard to believe that she’s 44 years old. The issue is filled with supermodels, including Helena Christensen, Yasmin Le Bon and Christy Turlington.

Despite proudly claiming that she supports gay marriage and adoption, which her husband does not, she does hold some traditional values – which became apparent when she recommended that Valerie Tierweiler marry the current French president, whom she has been in a relationship with since 2005.

In the magazine, Bruni says of herself: “I’m not at all an active feminist. On the contrary, I’m a bourgeois. I love family life, I love doing the same thing every day.”
