Cara Delevingne is definitely the model of the moment, so we’re sure those of you with a Vogue magazine subscription won’t be surprised to see her on the cover of the March issue, which you’ll have just received.
The day of her Vogue interview, she is preparing for the British Fashion Council awards, at which she won Model of the Year and it’s been a manic few months for her.
“I never really expected it to be like this,” she says. “I always said it can’t get any busier than it is now – and that was six months ago. This has been my first day off since fashion week.” And she’s even doing a Vogue shoot on her day off…
Her sister Poppy Delevingne is also a model (she’s an ambassador for Chanel), but very different from 20-year-old Cara.
“I was always a big old tomboy,” she states. “Both my sisters are very girly and my mum used to dress us in matching pinafores… I just didn’t get it.”
She played Princess Sorokina in Joe Wright’s recent adaptation of Anna Karenina. She describes the experience as the “best of my life… I was like, this is where I belong. On set, I would stick around and watch the other scenes. I’ve never worked or enjoyed myself more in my life.”
