She may be 42, but model and actress Carolyn Murphy is still one of fashion’s biggest, not to mention most beautiful, stars. It is fitting therefore, that British Vogue chose her to star on their upcoming Ageless issue, photographed by Inez & Vinoodh, which is out on Friday, June 9.
Hailed as one of the original supers, the American beauty reflects on her incredible two-decade career in an intimate interview that accompanies the spread. "Kate, Amber, Shalom, Stella Tennant and I formed a sort of sisterhood," she said of her peers. "We would go vintage shopping together when we touched down in Paris. Kate was this tiny otherworldly being who just made me want to pluck my eyebrows and wear slip dresses and Adidas Gazelles."
She also discusses her struggle as a working parent, saying: "It’s important to talk about how stressful [being a single mother] is because I have lost sleep over the years. It's definitely a lot of work, being a woman in this day and age and raising children with integrity and a foundation of morals and values. It feels like a lot of pressure when people are looking to you to uphold that because you’re in the public eye."
