A man in Texas who became trapped in a cash machine had to slip SOS notes through the receipt slot in order to get rescued. The man had been working in the bank when he somehow got stuck within the machine, waiting for more than two hours to be rescued by some amused police officers.
"Sure enough, we can hear a little voice coming from the machine, so we're all thinking this is a joke, it's gotta be a joke," police officer Richard Olden told the BBC. "Everyone is okay, but you will never see this in your life, that somebody was stuck in the ATM, it was just crazy."
One handwritten note slipped by the trapped man to a customer said: "Please Help. I'm stuck in here, and I don't have my phone. Please call my boss." The message included the employer's phone number.
The moral of this story being if you are ever renovating a bank, make sure to keep your phone – or at least a pen and paper – on you at all times.
