Justin Timberlake might be best known for bringing sexy back, but the smooth singing superstar has just gained a new level of notoriety after breaking the law in Memphis, Tennessee. JT had flown back to his hometown in order to cast his vote in the Presidential elections early, and posted a selfie from the polling booth urging other US citizens to get out and vote.
However, what the artist formerly known as the Trousersnake didn’t realise is that taking photos inside polling stations is actually illegal in Tennessee, and if he had been charged with this misdemeanour it is punishable by up to 30 days in jail or a fine of $50 (which, let’s be honest, JT probably could have scraped together).
Of course, the authorities in Tennessee realise that Justin simply made an innocent mistake, because taking photos at polling stations is legal in 20 other states, and he was just trying to encourage people to #rockthevote.
