An official portrait of Prince Charles and Camilla has been released to mark the Duchess of Cornwall’s 70th birthday. Shot by world renowned Peruvian photographer Mario Testino, the image was taken in May, and shows the couple in the morning room of their London home, Clarence House.
Testino has a long history with the royals having shot Prince William and Kate on several occasions, along with his famous series of portraits of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, which were taken just months before her death in 1997.
Said Testino of his latest portrait: “I'm honoured to document their royal highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall on this very important date.
“I first photographed the Duchess after her wedding to the Prince on a commission from British Vogue in 2006, and discovered a kind and beautiful person with a wonderful sense of humour. Doing this latest assignment to celebrate Her Royal Highness's 70th birthday is a true honour.”
