Gamers with an Official Xbox 360 Magazine subscription can read all about the Tomb Raider reboot in the latest issue.
The game is not scheduled for release until winter 2011, however, the publication has the lowdown on what the game will involve.
The latest Tomb Raider game will wind back the clock to when Lara Croft is just 21-years-old and has been dispatched on the salvage vessel Endurance.
Things take a turn for the worse when the ship is caught in bad weather and crashes, leaving the young Lara stranded on a mysterious island, fighting for her life.
The Official Xbox 360 Magazine said that the game is set to be "much darker" than previous versions.
"The island promises both unprecedented freedom to explore – objectives, such as handy radio masts, will be often be visible from the horizon with no set path to get to them," it continued.
The latest issue of the magazine also previews Portal 2, which is due for release in April 2011.
