He may have just started nursery school, but Prince George has managed to pack a lot in to his first three years. From wondering the Queen’s 775-odd-rooms at Buckingham Palace, to meeting Barack Obama after his bed time in his pyjamas, the helicopter-riding tot has had some amazing experiences!
No doubt this next year will be just as exciting for him, appearing on more stamps and more official tours. Maybe he’ll be meeting Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump in his plane print slippers this year.
The swauve cherub-faced boy also featured in GQ’s 50 Best Dressed Men in Britain 2015, coming in at number 49. The ex-Lanvin designer, Alber Elbaz admired George’s style saying “Already following in the footsteps of his great-great-great-uncle, Edward VIII, and his grandfather, the Prince of Wales, Prince George looks set to become the UK's best-dressed man."
The white lace, silk and satin gown worn by both Prince George and his younger sister Princess Charlotte at their christening ceremonies is going to be on display. The gown is a replica of the one commissioned by Queen Victoria for her first child in 1841, and worn by over 60 royal babies since. From July 23rd, visitors will be able to admire the lavish garment in a new exhibition at Buckingham Palace, celebrating 90 years of the Queen’s style: ‘Fashioning a Reign: 90 Years of Style from the Queen’s Wardrobe’.
Other unmissable garments in the exhibition include the Queen’s stunning ivory silk wedding dress, the satin gown she wore for her coronation, and the vibrant green dress and coat she wore recently for her 90th birthday. They even have the peach beaded, feathered and pleated dress she wore to ‘parachute’ into the Olympic stadium in 2012.
With a royal style heritage that includes Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, and Edward VIII, Prince George is clearly tottering in their footsteps.
