After a long and cold winter, Hello magazine has suggested that now might be a good time to address your fingers and nails.
The publication has published a number of tips for restoring some life to withered and cracked hands that have been damaged by the cold weather.
It suggested cutting nails straight across or in a gentle oval shape to prevent them becoming in-grown.
Following this, a wooden emery board should be used to shape them to perfection, with long strokes from side to tip best for smoothness.
Taking care of the cuticle is also important as it protects growing cells, while it is also essential to keep the nails hydrated with hand cream.
Food supplements for hair and nails should help to strengthen them, but they will take around two or three months to take effect.
Meanwhile, Hello magazine recently reported on Prince William and Prince Harry coming face to face with a huge African rock python.
