She was spotted with her new hairstyle when she arrived at Narita airport in Japan, reports Look magazine.
At first, everyone believed she'd chopped off her locks, however, the glossiness of the hair made people think twice.
Given her penchant for wigs and the super perfect straightness of the hair, it could well just be a wig.
The 25-year-old singer, who is famed for songs such as I Kissed a Girl, was sporting a fairly casual outfit when she touched down in the Far East.
She wore skin-tight black trousers and an embellished grey top, coupled with superstar sunglasses to complete the look.
Katy is engaged to British comedian Russell Brand.
Her new album, called Teenage Dream, is due to go on sale in five days time.
She's got a tour accompanying the album release which kicks off at the end of the month in New York City.
