Entries open for Rhythm's Drummer of the Year

Wannabe participants have until July 26th to submit their videos to be considered for a chance of becoming Rhythm's Drummer of the Year.

Rhythm magazine has encouraged all drummers to take advantage of the opportunity to perform live at the London Music Show later this year.

The winner of Rhythm's Drummer of the Year competition will gain the chance to show their skills at the event at London's ExCel exhibition centre in October.

All interested parties have been told to send the magazine a link of no more than three minutes showing them performing an original solo drum composition.

"The best will be picked to face off live in front of a panel of expert judges and industry experts, who will be looking for the drummer who shows the finest technical ability, taste and feel as well as executing the best performance and delivery," Rhythm magazine said.

All entries need to be in by July 26th, with the September issue of the magazine set to reveal the shortlist of six finalists.

Meanwhile, the overall winner will be crowned at the competition final on October 10th and will win some awesome prizes alongside the accolade of Rhythm's Drummer of the Year.

The London Music Show 2010 will also mark the return of the Guitarist of the Year awards, with past winners including Dave Kilminster, Stuart Ryan and Simon McBride.
