Cheryl Cole fans with a Heat magazine subscription might be bemused to read that her ex, Ashley, sent her flowers after her appearance on Piers Morgan's Life Stories programme.
The singer reportedly got a "good luck" message, ahead of her X Factor performance, with the bouquet after footballer Ashley was forced to watch the show by his mother.
A source told Heat magazine: "He sent flowers and called to wish her luck on Sunday morning - the day she was due to perform her new single Promise This on the results show.
"It wasn't great timing as she was so nervous about performing and needing to focus, but seeing her get so upset during the interview made him seriously realise the damage he'd done."
The source added: "She told him the interview made her remember the good times all at once and wonder if she had made the right decision not working on things, but she knows it was for the best."
Chezza sang her new single Promise This on the show last week. Last year, she debuted her first offering Fight For This Love live on the finals.
