Alec Baldwin talks politics with GQ

The Saturday Night Live star is franker than ever as he graces the magazine’s November cover.

He recently won an Emmy for playing the current American President, but the accolade hasn’t softened Alec Baldwin’s views of Donald Trump as he declared to British GQ: “Now, I am by no means comparing Trump to Hitler, I would never do that... What you see with Trump is how Hitler got elected. Someone who will say anything to people because of their economic interest.”

Having enjoyed somewhat of a career renaissance in recent years thanks to the huge success of sitcom 30 Rock and his poignant Saturday Night Live sketches, the 59-year-old actor appears to be in fine form on the cover as he joyously swings a gold club next to the caption: ‘Still Swinging’.

He also takes the opportunity to clarify once and for all, his feelings towards the man he has become synonymous with this year, saying: “I don’t hate him (Trump). I mean, the longer he’s in office the more unhappy I am. It just makes it harder. It doesn’t make it impossible... It’s not like I have to take a shower or something.”
